22,533 trips taken since Neuron scooters launched in Vernon

Scooters prove to be a hit

Rental e-scooters are proving popular in Vernon.

In a report to Vernon city council, Neuron Mobility says 8,116 users have signed up via the Neuron app and there have been 22,533 trips taken since the service launched July 29.

The total distance travelled was 71,345 kilometres as of Aug. 30.

Over the past 30 days, Neuron has implemented eight slow riding, six no riding and 14 no parking zones in collaboration with the city and local stakeholders.

The company has put a major push on rider safety, including public education programs, incentives for helmet use and good parking practices.

Riders must be 18 years of age.

They must also not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Riders must not carry any passengers, such as children or pets and must abide by local traffic rules.
