Sustainable Environment Network Society election forum tonight, chamber forum Sept. 8

First of 2 forums tonight

The first of two election forums for candidates in the North Okanagan-Shuswap riding takes place this evening.

The Sustainable Environment Network Society forum will begin at 7 p.m. and will be streamed on the SENS Facebook page.

It will take place at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre.

While this forum will focus on the environment, the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce is hosting its own forum on Sept. 8.

It will be live streamed on Castanet.

That forum is expected to be more business and economy focused.

It will be moderated by chamber general manager Dan Proulx, beginning at 6 p.m.

Local candidates in the federal election include Conservative incumbent Mel Arnold, Liberal challenger Shelley Desautels, Andrea Gunner of the Green Party, Kyle Delfing of the PPC and the NDP's Ron Johnston.
