Large area in East Vernon without water after pipe bursts

The water is out to parts of Vernon.

There’s a water main break in the vicinity of 30th Avenue and Shantz Road and it’s affecting a fairly wide area.

Kyle Dolphin lives on Pottery Road and contacted Castanet.

He said he noticed there wasn’t any water pressure at his home around 7:30 p.m. and then found out his entire neighbourhood was affected. He called the city and got a call back around 8:40 p.m. saying crews were dealing with a water main break.

There is currently no estimated time for how long it will take to fix the broken pipe or when the taps might be turned back on.
