Abandoned homeless camp cleaned up at Bardolph Lake in North Okanagan

Forest mess cleaned up

The messy remains of whats appears to have been a homeless camp at Bardolph Lake in the hills above Lavington has been cleaned up.

Okanagan Forest Task Force member Justin Patterson says he was ATVing in the Becker Lake and Bardolph Lake areas Wednesday, when he came across the site.

The area contained sleeping bags, pillows, tires, pots and pans, carpet underlay, tarps and more.

Patterson filled a truck with the debris.

"I came across a huge dump pile just before the bridge to the shooting range. My little guy and I went back ... to clean up a total of four spots, ending up with a full truck load destined for the dump," he wrote on the OFTF Facebook page.
