White cat not seen since Armstrong house fire on Sage Avenue Wednesday afternoon

An Armstrong family is hoping someone can help them find their cat after a house fire Wednesday.

Fire broke out on Sage Avenue shortly after 1 p.m., sending black smoke billowing into the sky and damaging the home.

The family cat has not been seen since, and a post on the Lost and Found Pets in Armstrong Facebook page is asking residents to keep an eye out for the white feline.

“The City of Armstrong is looking for the community’s support in locating a missing cat for (Wednesday's) house fire on Sage Ave. Should you locate their cat (Handsome) please contact Warren (Smith) at the City of Armstrong, 250-546-3023,” the Facebook post reads.

Smith says as of 10 a.m. Thursday, the cat yet to be located.
