Heavy police presence near Vernon's 35 Street and 26th Avenue

Report of police action

There were reports of a heavy police presence near 35 Street and 26th Avenue Friday night.

Witnesses tell Castanet numerous police were at the scene just after 9 p.m.

Police reportedly smashed a window at a residence and one person was seen yelling while being taken to a police car.

Castanet has reached out to the RCMP and will have more information as soon as it becomes available.

Earlier this week, there was a large police presence at the Econolodge Motel in Vernon.

Numerous RCMP officers, along with members of the Emergency Response Team, were at the motel early Thursday morning and several officers remained at the scene throughout the day.
