A Vernon business, Barre Lab, is finding ways to stay active during the three-week COVID shutdown.

The fitness studio offers online classes for people to follow along at home and just recently they introduced outdoor classes.

“We shifted Barre Lab outside to accommodate with the restrictions,” said Barre Lab owner Jaymie Hackman. “We feel like it's really important for the community to stay active during times of stress and during the pandemic.”

Last week, the province imposed COVID restrictions that ban group exercise activities as well as eating indoors at restaurants.

The outdoor classes, held at the Okanagan College Track, are only allowed to a limited number of people in order to remain socially distanced.

“It’s so important to keep moving and staying active, it’s good for our mental health, just all around. It boosts our energy and brings energy to our day,” said Hackman.

The online classes consist of over 90 classes that accommodates every fitness level and require little to no equipment.
