Parent company of Vernon's KingFisher Boats adds All American Marine to portfolio

KingFisher family grows

The parent company of Vernon's KingFisher Boats has expanded its portfolio with the purchase of Bellingham-based All American Marine.

Bryton Marine Group announced the acquisition on Friday.

The family-owned company bills itself as the largest and fastest growing builder of premium welded aluminum commercial, recreational and adventure boats in North America.

Its other brands include Brix Marine, EagleCraft, Duckworth, Northwest, and Weldcraft boats.

The various brands build boats from 30 to 150 feet in size.

AAM, founded in 1987, builds highly specialized vessels including high-speed catamarans, monohull cruise boats, research vessels, passenger ferries and more.

The company has exclusive North American building rights with top naval architect and designer Nic de Waal of Teknicraft Design in Auckland, N.Z. Teknicraft design incorporates cutting-edge hull shape and an optional hydrofoil system in catamarans to create lift and enhance performance.

It's also putting the final touches on the world’s first hydrogen fuel cell powered electric passenger vessel.

"AAM is a formidable addition to our group; they are a great cultural fit with a highly talented team. Their keen focus on technological integration and commitment to shaping the future of hybrid-electric and hydrogen vessel implementation is inspiring," Bryton CEO Byron Bolton said in a press release.

All American Marine will continue to operate in Bellingham.

KingFisher Boats is located on Highland Road at the north end of Swan Lake.

It hand builds 33 models, specializing in fishing boats for lakes, rivers and oceans.
