The golf season is almost here and some courses have started the re-opening process

Get your golf clubs ready

A warm breeze and sunny days call for one thing - golf.

For those patiently waiting for the golf season to begin and the courses to open, it’s almost time.

Some golf clubs have already moderately opened their courses, like the Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club that is open for members only and is looking to open to the public soon, but have not set a date.

Spallumcheen Golf found it safer and more organized to open only to their members before the public, especially with COVID-19.

“We start members only, because with COVID, we want to minimize the number of people we have walking around, so we take the time getting all the members through,” said Director of Golf Tyler McCracken. “It does take a bit of time, each membership going through and getting them checked in and once that’s done we’re in a better position to bring the public in.”

Predator Ridge will be opening on April 7 and they will be celebrating their 30th anniversary this season and the Vernon Golf Club driving range is open by appointment only and will be opening the course on March 23.

Courses like Hillview and the Rise Golf are still unsure. The Rise has a tentative date set for April 16 and Hillview has yet to set a date.
