Friends and family have drive-by parade for Cindy Master's 60th birthday

Can't stop this celebration

Friends and family of Cindy Masters were planning a gala celebration for her 60th birthday Friday, but COVID-19 restrictions scuttled those plans.

However, they were not going to let the big day pass without fanfare, so they organized a drive-by parade.

Masters was the 2018 Good Citizen of the Year, she spent many years leading the Kindale Developmental Association and is now the executive director for The Vernon Land Trust.

She is also active in the community.

Sandie Smith helped organize the drive-by parade.

“She does an incredible job for our community, so this is the very least we could do,” said Smith.

And what did the birthday girl think of all this?

“I was pretty surprised because I knew that my daughter was up to something, but we already had a family photo shoot this morning so I did not thing that this was happening,” said Masters following the parade.

“I'm quite surprised by all my friends; it's just amazing. I'm a little emotional about it all actually.”
