Acton, Shatzko will lead RDNO for another year

Familiar faces return

There will be some familiar faces leading the regional district.

Kevin Acton, who is also the mayor of Lumby, was elected for his third term as chairperson of the Regional District of North Okanagan.

Director Amanda Shatzko will return as vice-chair.

“Having the opportunity to represent the RDNO once again as the chairperson is a real privilege. It is such a rare thing in life to be part of a great institution that is on the front lines of decision making that shapes our communities,” said Acton.

“We have many exciting events coming this year with new projects and partnerships along with continued ventures. It is sure to be an amazing and busy time. I am very happy to have Director Shatzko back to work alongside as vice-chair again. She brings a fresh and positive outlook to every facet of our organization,” said Acton.

Shatzko said to receive continuous support from my fellow politicians is a huge honour.

“I love my job and thank them and my constituents for their trust in me in creating opportunities for North Okanagan families,” she said.

The RDNO Board is made up of municipal mayors and councillors appointed by their respective councils and elected representatives from five electoral areas.

RDNO Directors serve for a four-year term, and the directors elect the chair and vice-chair position each November for a one-year term.
