Vernon's Kalateral to release new hip-hop EP this week

Local rapper drops new EP

A Vernon-based rapper has released a new EP.

Kyle Hesketh, also known by his stage name Kalateral, drops his five-song EP Dec. 4, titled Kalateral Damage.

The EP will be released on all streaming platforms by Okanagan-based record label LegionHQ Records and is the second release this year from the label's production team.

The album has a mix of instrument-based music performed and recorded live in the studio, as well as some more traditional sounding hip-hop tracks produced by other producers, including Kelowna-based beatmaker Lizdek.

Fans of Okanagan hip-hop may recognize Kalateral as being one-third of the  rap group DCK (formerly the Dunce Cap Kids).

This EP was a chance for Hesketh to branch out on his own and showcase his individual talents and writing style. However, the other members of DCK make appearances on the recording.

The album is available on all major streaming platforms, or by going to https://linktr.ee/kalateral/
