BC Wildfire crews are making sure a spot fire on the west side of Okanagan Lake is completely extinguished.
The fire on Six Mile Creek Road started as a structure fire that set some of the surrounding forest on fire on Aug. 11.
Fire information officer Kyla Fraser said the fire never grew larger than .10 hectares and was contained the day it broke out.
“We do have a crew that will be going out this afternoon. They will be doing a final patrol of the area and hopefully they will be able to call it out today,” said Fraser. “They just need to go back and check there are no hotspots.”
Fraser said crews need to ensure the fire is 100 per cent out before allowing people back into that area.
