Social distancing means Easter services will be held online today

It will be a cyber Easter

It is one of the most important events on the Christian calendar.

Good Friday represents the day Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross for the sins of man.

According to biblical scripture, Christ rose from the dead three days later.

In past years, thousands of people from all different churches gathered for a single Good Friday service in communities across the country.

However, with the COVID-19 ban on large gatherings, Good Friday will be done a lot differently this year.

With churches closing their physical doors because of the coronavirus, they have opened cyber doors.

Churches have gone online to continue with regular Sunday services and the same will happen Friday, with most churches holding a special service today in honour of Easter.

People are encouraged to go to their church website for times and how to log on.
