Vernon's Nor-Val Rentals offers up $3,000 charity giveaway

A Vernon company wants to give away $3,000 to a worthy cause.

Jim Clipperton of Nor-Val Rentals posted a video on the company's facebook page Monday announcing the giveaway.

"For over 26 years, Nor-Val Rentals has supported charities, non-profits, and youth sports," Clipperton wrote in the post. "Last year, we supported over 70 groups throughout the Okanagan, from Osoyoos to Revelstoke – and this year we are adding the organization of your choice. 

Nor-Val asks followers to comment on the video with their group nomination to receive the funding.

The winner gets to choose who will receive the $3,000 and will also receive a $1,000 rental credit at any of Nor-Val's locations. The company has shops in Vernon, Armstrong, Lake Country and West Kelowna.

Nominees must be registered charities, non-profits or youth groups, and must be in the Shuswap-Okanagan, between Revelstoke and Osoyoos.

"No ‘Casey Needs New Golf Clubs Society’ or ‘The Millers Need A New Motorhome Foundation,'" joked Clipperton.

The contest ends May 8, and Nor-Val asks, one comment per person.
