The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce has released its Top 20 Over 40 list, and Castanet will be featuring all of the honourees.
Bill Tarr has been active on the Vernon sports scene for most of his life and he has a passion to get others moving and having fun.
“I have been a business man, in a family business, for the best part of 50 years, but that's not why I'm here,” said Tarr, who diverts attention away from his business dealings toward the numerous amenities the city, and region, have to offer.
Standing on a windy day at the athletic park at Okanagan College, Tarr said Vernon has a lot to offer.
“The biggest thing I like to do is bring people together to make our community great,” said Tarr. “It is amazing the thousands of people who want Vernon to be a destination to live, a healthy place to be and we have it all here. I'm just lucky to help people come together to make these things happen.”
For almost five decades Tarr has been active with range of sporting groups and has no plans on slowing down.
The Top 20 over 40 is presented by the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce, KPMG, the regional district and Castanet.
