The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce has released its Top 20 Over 40 list, and Castanet will be featuring all of the honourees.
It is one of the best-known last names in Vernon, and while you may not recognize Mike Nolan walking down the street, you have seen some of his work.
The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce has released its Top 20 over 40 list, and on that list is Mike Nolan.
During his time with Kerr Wood Leidel Associates, Nolan helped design the performing arts centre and the multiplex, now known as Kal Tire Place.
Nolan said one of goals of KWL was to bring big-city engineering and innovation to the Greater Vernon area.
KWL has also been involved in numerous other projects with Greater Vernon Water and the City of Vernon.
When he's not in the office, Nolan is involved with Kalamalka Rotary, Community Foundation and Historic O'Keefe Ranch.
He also carries one of the most historic names in the city.
“It feels great to be part of a community with a long history,” Nolan said. “On my father's side the Nolan Drugs building, Pharmasave now, is the fourth generation Nolan. My brother and his son are both pharmacists. On my mother's side her grandfather, my great-grandfather, moved to this area in the late 1800s and started at Coldstream Ranch.”
The Top 20 Over 40 is brought to you by the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce, KPMG, the regional district and Castanet.
