Last chance for Upper Room Mission spring raffle

Time is running out to get in on the Upper Room Mission's spring raffle. 

“We’ve had good traction on this raffle so far,” says general manager Naomi Rouck. “However, several tickets remain available heading into the last few days before the big draw.”

Draw date is this Friday. Prizes include one week’s accommodation in Las Vegas, a two-night accommodation and ski package at Silver Star and more.

“Donations tend to drop off after Christmas for most charities, and the Upper Room Mission is no exception,” says Rouck. “As a result, we need to find more creative ways to bring in money to keep our charity’s doors open and keep serving food to our community’s hungry.”

Tickets are $50 and are available at the Mission until the Feb. 28 draw at 1 p.m., which will be live-streamed to the Mission’s Facebook page.

Only 400 tickets will be sold, so your chances are good!

“Anyone who has thought about donating, now is the time to do it,” Rouck said. “We are in desperate need of more funding and your support of this raffle will directly impact our services.”

The mission is celebrating 40 years of service this year, and survives entirely on donations, without government funding.

“Without the incredible community support the Mission has seen over the past 40 years, we wouldn’t be where we are today,” Rouck said.
