Valentine's Day brings special events to Vernon Winter Carnival

Love in the air at carnival

We're one week into Vernon Winter Carnival, and since today is Valentine's Day, there are some special love-themed activities on tap.

Sovereign Lake is hosting a Valentine's night ski tonight, where the trails will be illuminated until 9 p.m. If you can't make it tonight, there are night skiing options available at Sovereign on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

There is a Country Music Valentine's Dance at the Village Green Hotel, where you and your partner can two step and line dance all night. There will be prizes given away, and admission is free.

The Snowed In Comedy Tour is coming to the Vernon Performing Arts Centre, promising some great laughs. The tour is the largest in Canada, stopping in 70 cities. Tickets are still available, and can be found here.

Day two of Jopohouse will be happening at the Vernon Lodge, starting at 11 a.m. Renowned Tina Turner impersonator Luisa Marshall will be performing again, and you can get tickets here.

The finals of the carnival broomball tournament will be happening at the Village Green, starting at 11:15 a.m.

The Summer of Love party will be rounding out the night at the Elks Hall, with local band Mace performing. Drinks are available to purchase, and tickets are still available.
