Broomball highlights Day 5 of the Vernon Winter Carnival

Broomball is back

We are now officially halfway through the Winter Carnival festivities, as day five is now upon us. There are many great events happening today, and sports highlight the top of the lists.

Broomball is back with its first day of competition kicking off at 11:15 a.m. The tournament will run for three days, all at the Village Green Hotel.

Jam Can Curling is finally starting today after it was postponed on Monday. You can catch the games at 12:30 p.m. at the Centennial outdoor rink.

The Okanagan Boys & Girls Club is hosting the Drop-In Kids Karnival at their gymnasium on 37th Avenue. Stop by between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for snacks and activities, and costumes are encouraged.

The Winter Breakout will be honouring exemplary members of the community who go the extra mile to make our community better. Awards being given include the JCI Citizen of the Year and the RCMP Volunteer award. Winter Breakout will be happening at the Schubert Centre from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Get Groovy is an educational family event at the Okanagan Science Centre, teaching children about the Science of Sound. The exhibition will be from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Dinner Theatre is putting on another production of Doesn't Time Fly, a musical comedy about a couple reuniting with their long-lost roommates. Tickets are still available, and can be purchased here.

Tickets are also available for Origami and Tea, an adult-only event where you can create art and enjoy experimenting with different teas.
