60th Vernon Winter Carnival parade takes over Vernon streets

Carnival parade takes over

For the past 60 years, dozens of decorated floats have made their way through the streets of Vernon. On Saturday, the tradition continues.

Castanet will be live streaming the famous Vernon Winter Carnival parade at noon, showing off the best that Vernon has to offer.

This year's carnival theme is Remember the 60s, so expect to see all sorts of psychedelic costumes and plenty of far-out colours.

The floats will be travelling south on 27th Street to 30th Avenue, where they'll then head west to 31st Street. The parade will then make its way north to 39th Avenue.

The carnival kicked off this past Thursday, with Megan Fowles being proclaimed as Queen Silver Star LX, and plenty of events have come since then. The festivities will carry through to Feb. 16.
