Vernon's Market at 3023 pops up on main street

Like a new store every day

It's like going to a different store every day.

The Market at 3023 offers a unique Christmas shopping experience while supporting local artisans.

Located at 3023 30th Ave., The Market was the brainchild of Stephanie Prentice.

“We have a bunch of different artisans and vendors and they switch every day,” said Prentice. “So every few days it is like a completely different store.”

The market features a range of item that cannot be found in big box stores.

The market also offers more than just items for sale; there is a Reiki master offering free session, counsellors are on hand for brief counselling sessions and other services not found at Wal Mart.

“There is a lot of handmade stuff, a lot of stuff that is one of a kind,” said Prentice. “Local businesses, local artisans, supporting people that are trying to make a go of it.”

Prentice got the idea for the pop-up market after dealing with mental health challenges.

“Art therapy was something I was really drawn towards and when I learned about different artists in teh area wanting an affordable place to sell their items, my husband and I had this space anyway so I thought why not open it up,” she said.

The pop up market will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday, until 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
