IPE just around corner

There will be lots of Horsing Around in Armstrong during the annual Interior Provincial Exhibition.

The 120th IPE runs Aug. 28 to Sept. 1, and there will be lots of new things to see and do at the popular event.

The Ram Truck Stage in the food court will feature the JS Garcia Band, Jack Jackson Band, NUA – Celtic Trio, Edgar Muenala – Pan Flute, Velvet Hand – Beatles Tribute Band and Becca Mabbett.

The singer/songwriter winner from the Lake Country Music Competition will also take the stage as will and the IPE Youth Talent Vocal winners from last year.

What happens when you put together acrobats and President’s Choice SuperDogs? You get Acrobark.

“Visualize acrobatics and the Presidents Choice Superdogs,” said Yvonne Paulson, IPE general manager, noting the two high-energy acts have just recently combined forces for a show like no other.

Kids World will feature Canadian Reptile Encounters, Bubble Wonders and a dinosaur. The popular zucchini derby is back as is the watermelon and corn eating contests. Ventriloquist Kellie Haines will keep kids of all ages entertained.

“We have all the traditional IPE things for you too. The biggest agricultural fair in BC. Come and see the best beef, swine, sheep, goats, horses, 4 H, baking, canning, sewing, floral, fruit, hobbies, honey, photography, vegetables, beer, wine, liqueurs, field and seed,” said Paulson.

The North Okanagan Model Rail Road Association will set up their trains at the NorVal arena.

The Finning Canada Pro Rodeo Tour will once again be hitting the dirt here in Armstrong at the Fair. Every night there will be non-stop action of thrills and spills from some of the best cowboys and cowgirls.

There will also be midway rides, food vendors, marketplace vendors and roving entertainers.

A full list of times and events can be found on the IPE website.
