Debris on Highway 97

UPDATE 3:39 p.m.

A dump truck blew a front driver's side tire, damaging the cab and spreading debris for more than 100 metres along the northbound lane of Highway 97.

The rig is parked at the side of the road and while traffic is slowing at the scene, it is still flowing smoothly.


ORIGINAL: 2:45 p.m.

Emergency crews are on the scene of an accident on Highway 97 south of Vernon.

Witnesses tell Castanet a tractor trailer unit is parked on the side of the road with front end damage near the turn off for the Kalamalka Lake lookout.

It is believed no one was hurt in the incident, but northbound traffic may be impacted.

Vernon Fire Rescue Crews are on scene and are clearing debris from the road.

Castanet will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
