Purrrfect summer camp

Trying to figure out how to keep the kids amused during summer break?

Why not let them hang out with cats, dogs, puppies and kittens.

The Vernon SPCA summer camps are underway and youths can hang out at the animal shelter for a week at a time.

Five-day camps run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Three- and four-day camps run from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Parents are welcome to drop off their child(ren) beginning at 9 a.m., and pick-up will extend for half an hour after camp ends.

Kyla Gauthier, Vernon SPCA outreach education assistant, said youths will spend 45 minutes a day in the kitten room doing a variety of activities throughout the day.

Participants will learn how to care for animals, what to do if it looks like a dog is going to bite as well as humane education..

The youths will also hang out with Chester the rabbit and Roger the cat.
