When thieves break into a vehicle they may be looking for a lot more than some spare change.
RCMP warn they may have a larger target in their sights.
Thieves may also be looking for such things as a garage door opener which could give them access to someone's home.
They can also grab insurance papers with your home address, and if a vehicle is not at a home perhaps the homeowners aren't either.
Police say a good tip is to black out your home address on your insurance papers, but ensure not to black out any of the vehicle information, only your personal home address.
