The biggest party in Lumby officially kicked off today.
Through Sunday, Lumby Days will provide a wealth of activities and events for all ages.
The Midway kicks things off with rides, games and carries on throughout the weekend.
Also on tap today is live entertainment at the Festival Stage in Park Oval, Thrash Wrestling, the Axe Monkeys and more.
And that is just a warm up for Saturday and Sunday.
The popular parade takes place Saturday at 11 a.m. and more than a dozen other events are planned for the day.
Sunday is also jam packed with numerous events, games, live entertainment and a wealth of events.
Along with numerous activities in town, there will also be action high above town.
The 13th Annual Lumby Air Races for Hang Gliding and Paragliding pilots will be hosted again by the Lumby Airforce Flying Club and will be based at the Freedom Flight Park near Lumby in Conjunction with Lumby Days.
Pilots from all over western Canada will take off from either Coopers Launch or Saddle Launch, which are both visible from the Lumby Days grounds.
The pilots will then climb to some 6,000 feet and use GPS guidance instruments to race their glider wings around 10-km and 25-km triangle courses surrounding Lumby Days.
