It's stampede time!

The Victoria Day long weekend means it's stampede time in the North Okanagan.

The 101st annual Falkand Stampede starts Saturday with 10,000 people expected over the long weekend.

Rodeo manager Melissa Churchill said the popular event will feature all the rodeo favourites including bronco riding, barrel racing and the always-popular bull riding.

The fan-favourite heavy horse pull takes place Monday at 11 a.m.

While it was in doubt for a while, the parade will be back this year Sunday at 1 p.m.

“We didn't think we were going to have it. We didn't have anyone to organize it but then at the last minute we had some locals step up,” said Churchill.

The Full Throttle Trick Riders will also be putting on shows daily.
