Better prepare for disaster

Vernon businesses can learn how to be better prepared in the event of a disaster.

Community Futures North Okanagan is hosting a workshop to help businesses better prepare for wildfires, floods and other emergencies, including how to develop a business continuity plan, the Greater Vernon Chamber reports.

The workshop will take place May 21, 9 a.m. to noon at Community Futures on 33rd St.

"The years 2017 and 2018 were record breaking for wildfires, along with widespread flooding in communities like Grand Forks and across B.C.," Community Futures loan co-ordinator Scot McNair told the chamber.

Funding for the workshop comes through the B.C. Wildfire Transition Project.
