Fire destroys motorhome

Lumby firefighters were called to a motorhome blaze Wednesday afternoon.

Fire Chief Tony Clayton says the 20-foot Class C motorhome was fully involved when crews arrived just before 2:30 p.m.

“It was parked on private property. It was unoccupied,” said Clayton, adding the vehicle was not insured.

“We had 12 firefighters, an engine and two tenders because we had to shuttle water out to it. We did have to use a little excavator to tear it apart to make sure it was completely out.”

The fire happened on the 400 block of Mabel Lake Road.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.
