Fines for dogs on field

Off-leash dogs at Marshall Fields was once again the topic of discussion in council chambers Monday.

For the past several meetings, civic leaders have been debating how to handle off-leash dogs at the park that includes soccer fields used by thousands of players a year.

Councillors Akbal Mund and Kelly Fehr said most people would agree a fence would solve most of the problems, but there would still be people that would allow their dogs on the field.

Mayor Victor Cumming said there are maps at every entrance to the park so people should know where they can and can't let their dogs run free.

Council agreed that warnings and then fines are warranted for anyone who has a dog on the playing fields.
