Podium for para skier

Lumby's Logan Leach skied his way to a silver medal at the Canada Winter Games.

Leach earned his medal Wednesday in para alpine slalom.

His best run of the day clocked in at 1:01.28 at Nakiska Ski Resort in Kananaskis.

On Tuesday, he competed in giant slalom, but missed the podium, coming in fifth.

Leech, 16, who is visually impaired, "has worked so hard and dedicated so much time and talent to prepare for the Winter Games. He and his family overcome obstacles every day while learning how to best live with his disability," says a GoFundMe campaign that has helped with his training expenses.

Leach is a member of the Vernon Ski Club and a student at Charles Bloom Secondary School.
