The Vernon Winter Carnival is parade taking over downtown Vernon for the 59th year today, and Castanet will have live coverage of the iconic event.
The parade, boasting more than 90 different floats, will kick off at noon, travelling south on 27th Street to 30th Avenue, where the floats will head west to 31st Street. The parade will then make its way north to 39th Avenue.
Despite the chilly weather and lightly falling snow, people are beginning to secure the best places to watch the festivities outside Castanet's Vernon office on 30th Avenue.
For those looking to watch the parade from the comfort of your own home, Castanet will be live streaming the parade, beginning just after noon.
