Busy time at the Star

It was a very merry Christmas for SilverStar Mountain Resort as people flocked to the North Okanagan ski hill over the holidays.

And the newly installed Des Schumann Mountain Express gondola proved its worth, shuttling thousands of people to the top of the mountain.

“Overall, we were very pleased with the results from the holiday season. It was great to see guests from all over the world as well as our local community coming up and enjoying all that SilverStar offers.” said Ian Jenkins, Director of Sales and Marketing for the resort. “We had great conditions on both our Alpine and Nordic trails with fresh snow throughout the holidays. In addition we welcomed plenty of non-skiers who just wanted to experience SilverStar utilizing our new gondola, tube park, skating, snowshoeing and fat biking and dining in our varied restaurants.”

SilverStar kicks off the New Year with programming for all ages including the Rippers programs for kids and Masters programs for the young at heart.

In addition, discounted night skiing begins Jan.11 on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the season encouraging beginners to try out the sport on the Magic Carpet or Silver Queen chair lift.

For more advanced riders, the new Des Schumann Summit Express Gondola offers more access to more advanced night ski terrain.
