Truck fire accidental

Preparation and training are being credited for Vernon Fire Rescue's quick response to a vehicle fire Sunday night.

Firefighters arrived on scene at Foster Road around 7:20 p.m. to find a Dodge truck fully involved in flames.

"Every day our team is training, preparing and responding to calls for assistance to protect the safety of our community," said Vernon chief David Lind. "This is an example of the good work our firefighters provide."

The vehicle's owner was on scene and the cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.
