Interactive map helps hikers

A new online interactive trail map of the Greater Vernon area is inspiring hikers to hit the local trails.

Launched by the Ribbons of Green Trails Society, the map features photos, trail information, and access directions for trails throughout the Greater Vernon area.

In total there are write-ups and pictures on 52 trails, which are divided into three categories: Vernon Area, the Grey Canal trails, and Predator Ridge trails.

“You can easily see at a glance where the various trails are located around Greater Vernon”, states Ingrid Neumann, Ribbons of Green director who was involved with creating the online map.

The map is easily navigated by clicking on a coloured trail to view the trail’s name.

Click or tap on a trail photo for further trail information such as features, access, parking, distance, difficulty, trail surface, and whether dogs are allowed.

Zoom in on the map to view trail location and parking.

The Ribbons of Green Trails Society of Vernon is dedicated to the promotion and construction of walking, hiking and cycling trails, both on and off-road within the Greater Vernon region.
