Get your science on for free

The Okanagan Science Centre is inviting everyone to come down for the International Science Centre and Science Museum Day Saturday, Nov. 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sponsored bu the OSC and Kal Tire, admission is free for anyone who wants to check out the facility that has been operating in Vernon for more than 25 years.

The event will feature demonstrations and hands-on activities for children of all ages throughout the day. Kal Tire will have a by-donation barbecue set up in the parking lot from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with all proceeds going to provide Okanagan Science Centre family memberships to local families in need.

“The day will also give the community a chance to see the new gallery floor made possible by the generous support of Kal Tire as part of its recycled tire program,” said Jim Swingle, OSC executive director.

“Central to our mission is ensuring science is for everyone. It is important to us to offer free days at the science centre so everyone in the community can enjoy and benefit from what we offer here. We hope lots of families will come down and see what we’re doing.”

The science centre is located in Polson Park.
