Clearer at the mountain tops

If you're looking for a way to escape almost all of the smoke then head to Vernon's SilverStar Mountain Resort.

Smoke continues to blanket the entire Okanagan Valley but up at SilverStar breathing is a little bit easier.

"The thickest of the smoke is at the base of the valley, and the higher in elevation you go, the better the air quality," says Wesla Wong, meteorologist at SilverStar Mountain Resort.

Currently, the air quality is at a 10+ rating which is considered 'very high risk.'

Starting Monday the air quality is expected to improve to a six which is considered 'moderate risk.'

There is still a light haze at SilverStar but it's certainly a lot clearer than the valley bottom.
