Three-vehicle crash

A three-vehicle collision sent two people to hospital near Revelstoke Sunday evening.

At about 5:45 pm Revelstoke RCMP, Revelstoke Fire Rescue Service and the B.C. Ambulance Service responded to a call on Highway 1 near Crazy Creek.

All three vehicles were travelling westbound on Highway 1, when traffic dramatically slowed down, causing one of the vehicles to rear-end the other two.

Eight people were involved in the crash and of the eight a 45 year old and a 33 year old woman were sent to hospital.

Traffic was slowed down to single-lane traffic for about an hour.

The Revelstoke RCMP remind the public to use caution in heavy traffic on the Trans-Canada Highway and that sudden stops for traffic congestion, wildlife and highway incidents may be necessary.

Driver’s should avoid following too closely.

RCMP also remind motorists to respect the direction of traffic control persons and to slow down on the approach and passing of all highway workers and emergency services personnel.
