It's Vernon's time to shine with the filming of a new movie featuring world-renowned actor Nicolas Cage.
On Thursday crews seen were filming across from École Beairsto Elementary at the All Saints Anglican Church.
"Right now we have a major road closure going on," said Robert Bricker, location manager with Minds Eye. "The movie is called A Score to Settle, with regards to things like cast and stuff it varies from day to day."
"Of course, the film does star Nicolas Cage and Benjamin Bratt to name a few."
The film is shooting in Vernon because the city is known to be very versatile when it comes to landscape. Today's scenes were meant to look as though they were shot in Oregon.
Crews will be filming a number of scenes in Vernon over the course of the next week.
