National Caesar Day

What's your favourite topping on a caesar?

Thursday was International Caesar Day and for Canada, that's a big deal.

Castanet staff decided to take a short break from work to celebrate the very special occasion.

"I love toppings, I'm all about the toppings," said Kari Sargeant, Castanet sales staff. "I really do like a good pickle."

The most amazing caesar Kari ever consumed isn't one she will soon forget.

"I think it was on a patio in Vancouver once but I can't remember the name of the place," she said.

The caesar featured a blue cheeseburger and stuffed olives all piled on top.

Castanet sales staff member Krystina Rossworm loves has been celebrating the famous Canadian caesar for years.

"[I celebrate National Caesar Day] every year," Rossworm said. "I've been celebrating it before it was actually a national day to celebrate."

For Krystina she wants some 'eye candy' to pair with the cocktail.

"A very cute waiter," she says, adding that her caesar better come with some great toppings as well.

I guess it's fairly clear that the garnish on 9 (or with) a caesar is the most important element.
