Ripping up the Star

Attention all adrenaline junkies: it's time to rip up SilverStar Mountain.

Some of the best snowmobilers from Western Canada and the Yukon will be at the Star this weekend for high-octane hill climb racing.

The snow pilots will register Friday, with the action beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

This will be the second of three races in the Western Canadian Hillcross Association 2018 race circuit.

"These riders have competed all around the world and they are world-renowned for what they do," said Kaylee Wells, director of the Western Canadian Hillcross Association.

Spectators are invited to cheer on participants from the village, or take the Summit Chair to see the excitement from the top of the mountain.

For those interested in an aerial view of the races, Aurora Helicopters will be on site for airborne tours.
