Getting seedy in Vernon

Things were very seedy at the Vernon recreation complex Saturday, but that's a good thing.

Seedy Saturday brought dozens of vendors and thousands of people together to trade, buy and sell seeds and all things green.

Seed expert Mojove Kaplan said events like Seedy Saturday are important to keeping the food chain as natural as possible.

Along with numerous seed and plant vendors, there were also several presentations.

And Kaplan said education is an important part of the event.

“All of us here are educators working in our place of passion,” said Kaplan. “We get to connect with that gardener who wants to put that seed in the ground and grow the best food that they can grow.”
Seedy Saturday runs until 3 p.m. and is presented by the Sustainable Environment Network Society.
