Lightbulb thief

It appears a lightbulb thief is on the loose in Vernon.

At least that's what it looks like in surveillance video posted to the Vernon Rant and Rave Facebook page.

Roy Seymour, who lives near Clarence Fulton Secondary, posted a video from his home security camera showing a man walking up to his house, unscrewing a lightbulb and walking away with it.

"I read somewhere on Facebook someone was going around stealing lightbulbs," Seymour said. "Mine was also taken March 13 at 2:52 a.m. and here he is!"

The post has already received multiple shares and comments.

"I would be reporting it," said one person. "I've heard of people 'prepping houses' for others to go back and rob."

"It may sound silly over a lightbulb but report it to RCMP," said another person. "The crime analyst uses this type of info to create patterns in criminal activity and work to predicting patterns and area of town being targeted."

"Report all crimes no matter how silly or insignificant. This could be part of a larger plan. They can likely identify this person as it shows full face."

Other Vernon residents claim lightbulbs have been stolen from their homes as well.
