Two hurt in hit and run

Emergency crews were called to 39th Avenue near 36A Street Wednesday afternoon following a report of a hit-and-run accident.

Witnesses tell Castanet a silver van struck a car, causing the car to hit a tree.

The van then continued down 39th Avenue for a few hundred yards before the driver lost control and ended up in a snowbank on the side of the road.

According to witnesses, two men were seen physically fighting in the van before the accident.

After the van came to a stop, the witnesses said the two men jumped into a white Pontiac and left the scene.

Two people in the car received minor injuries.
