A hilarious night for women

Vernon's biggest stand-up comedy event of the year takes place next weekend.

'I Am Woman, Hear Me Laff' will roar through Vernon next Saturday night.

The annual event celebrates International Women's Day with some of the funniest comedians around.

I Am Woman, Hear Me Laff brings an assortment of professional standup comedians together for a night of female empowerment promising to deliver "side-splitting, tear-inducing laughter."

This year's headliner is Debra DiGiovanni known as the “best comedian to see after a messy break up,” with a sharp edge, rapid-fire delivery and playful air.

DiGiovanni is a four-time Canadian Comedy Award winner and was Canada’s favourite female comedian three years in a row.
 
She has appeared on many comedy shows including ‘Gotham Live’ in New York City, ‘Stand Up in Stilettos’ in Los Angeles and ‘Stand and Deliver’ for NuvoTV.

The evening will be emceed by Jan Bannister, with opening acts by Alison Ogilvie and Nic Enright Morin.

The event will take place at the Performing Arts Centre March 10 at 8 p.m.
