Outdoor rink open longer

Good news for skaters: the outdoor rink at the recreation complex is staying open longer this year.

Old Man Winter is providing a favourable weather forecast meaning the final day of skating at the popular rink will be March 11.

The City had originally planned to close Centennial rink on March 4, but the expected cooler weather has officials extending the ice time by a week.

The rink will be open for public skating only from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30-8 p.m. daily.

If weather conditions deteriorate the rink will close.
