Queen Silver Star V graced Vernon on Tuesday morning and enjoyed coffee with our current queen and princess.
Joan Harper Bartsch was Queen Silver Star in 1965 and has one memory as queen she will never forget, "I met the first love of my life," she said.
Bartsch no longer lives in the Okanagan but still has friends from high school in Vernon.
She decided she would come to town to see them and she thought Winter Carnival would be a perfect time.
Queen Silver Star 58 Angitha Mriduraj and Princess Silver Star Mackenzie Kuziw met up with Bartsch at the Village Green Hotel to reminisce about what it was like to be Vernon royalty more than 50 years ago.
Bartsch advised the girls to enjoy every minute because the year will go by very quickly.
Princess Kuziw even managed to make Bartsch and her friends laugh by teaching them how to use Snapchat.
