Chantelle Deacon

It’s day number six of Vernon’s 58th annual Winter Carnival and events are already ramping up getting ready for the weekend.

The Kids Karnival takes place today starting at 10 a.m. Kids up to six-years-old along with their families can head to the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club Vernon Gymnasium for an indoor playgroup full of toys, a bounce castle, snacks and games.

Winter Breakout takes place today kicking off at 12 p.m at the Schubert Centre. It’s a celebration of the JCI Citizen of the Year and the RCMP Volunteer of the Year.

Support your local community members while enjoying wine, appetizers and door prices. All well listening to fantastic entertainment.

The Dinner Theatre – “Wonderland Retirement Home” a musical comedy takes place this evening and promises to be entertaining, although this adult only event is sold out, but make sure to put it in your calendar for next year.

Many will be lucky enough to learn how to create their own delicious tea at the sold out Tea Blending workshop tonight.

Join the Mental Illness Support Centre for the adult only Battle of the Bands. Head to The Green Pub and watch 4 to 5 bands of all different genres battle it out for the top spot.

If you are more interested in watching some sports this evening go cheer on our Vernon Vipers as they take on the Chilliwack Chiefs.

Don't forget to check out the Castanet Vernon Homepage page during Carnival to find Chantelle in Wonderland telling you all the latest events.
