First weekend of Carnival

It's the first weekend of the Vernon Winter Carnival and there are plenty of events for all ages. 

It's the 58th annual parade in Vernon's downtown and this years theme is Wonderland. 

The parade is from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday and will feature decorative floats and costumes. 

After head over to the Okanagan Science Centre between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. to learn how your eyes see different colours and objects. 

Silver Star is hosting their 37th annual Over the Hill Downhill event today. Dig out the long skis and ace shirt, while, channeling your need for speed. 

Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre is hosting a pancake breakfast until 11:30 a.m. for only $5 at the door. 

The adult only Beer Garden fundraiser takes place today and features live music, a concession and a whole lot of beer. 

The event takes place at Elks Hall between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. 

Starting at 7:30 p.m. tonight is the adult only Irish Pub Night at the Vernon Recreation Centre Auditorium. 

Last but not least the Celebration of Talent event will showcase a Wonderland of music and dance. 

The afternoon's Mad Hatter's tea party celebrates many of Vernon's top award-winning and multi-cultural performances.

This is a free event with limited seating.
